Cortnie is a native of Decatur, Indiana, where she grew up with three brothers, one sister, and a father who taught Taekwondo. Taekwondo camps and self-defense seminars surrounded her life. She knew early on in high school she wanted to work in the medical field and care for the ill or less fortunate people. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Lutheran Hospital in the Advance Cardiac Therapy Unit for four years. She then decided in 2016 to start at the University of Saint Francis, where she obtained her Family Nurse Practitioner Degree and graduated in 2019. When she is not in the office taking care of patients, she enjoys fitness, spending time with her family, and attending church regularly on Sundays.
